Dinner brag.
I made dinner tonight! It was easy. I can throw shit in a pan and heat it up. Awesome.
SAGE BUTTER PASTA
Seriously. Do this. It's not hard.
1 stick butter
1 carrot
sage leaves
cooked pasta of your desired amount
Melt a stick of butter in a skillet and wait until it's nice and golden brown. As it's melting, shred or julienne one carrot, and chop or tear up about 10-12 sage leaves (I grew mine in my garden. Also not hard.). When the butter has turned kind of a golden (past yellow but not quite to brown) add the carrots and the sage. Turn heat down to low and stir it up a little bit. Add your cooked pasta to the skillet, toss, enjoy.
One word: Savory!
VAL'S CAPRESE SALAD
Again, not hard. I call this "Val's" caprese salad because I don't really like basil that much.
1 tomato, diced
about 2 cups mozzarella, diced
some sprigs of onion chives, chopped
Put all ingredients in a bowl. Toss with your favorite salad dressing. Enjoy! (I got my tomato from my garden. Again, not hard.)
MADE-UP SALAD DRESSING
I made this up today because I needed salad dressing but didn't have any. Pretty good considering I don't know what I'm doing!
some olive oil
about half as much vinegar
oregano (guess where I got mine)
a little salt
a lot of fresh ground pepper
Put ingredients in a bowl and whisk with a shrimp fork.
WOWIE ZOWIE! That was good! I'm like a wizard!
NOTE: I happened upon this set of shrimp forks recently. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I use them for everything! But one unexpected use I never thought of was for beating one egg, or whisking made-up salad dressing. Love love love!
What'd you have for dinner?

party time - i loved all these suggestions!
tonight we kept it mellow and i steamed some squash, bok choy and then made an odd mish mash of "breakfast food" items to accompany it - corn muffins, eggs and ham steak!
sometimes i like to throw a bunch of weird stuff together - i'm going to try your pasta dish!
and now, i must color my hair!
