no fucking around - a grat list! early saturday morning!
as i type this i am listening to pandora - and lady gaga's: starstruck is playing.
1. not to be confused with madonna's: "lucky star". both are good songs, and well...you know the rest.....
1. A - this one has been added in on the top - i was walking/running around per-the-usuag and all the sudden i hear a classmate who i've always liked and admired, called my name - a group of my film buddies were sharing some food and beers post bob-o's good bye party today. i had missed the party and walked over to the group, chatting with my favorite homegirls, all three have worked on "Rescue", one friend is my right hand lady and we've shot together many of nights, she's excellent..
i get called away by my buddy and get introduced to a well known graffiti artist in seattle, which really caught me off guard, my friend and the two of us are chatting and it was nice/cool - he tells his graf buddy that i'm doing a graffiti movie and i handed his friend my card, everyone disbanded, but before the artist takes off and my friend goes to park his mercedes that he let me use for my re-enactment, his friend hands us stickers that he's made. i am happy and shocked.
i hug everyone good bye and talk to my homegirls about the progress that will and i made on the film - when i get home i check my phone and my buddy who is well connected to the graffiti scene in seattle and is an artist himself texts me about working on my film during second year, with his connects. he asked me to pitch it - i am touched by this and tell him that i hadn't even thought of it - we'll do it.
i've networked for almost 2 years, trying to get in, and it's been challenging - i am lucky. and very grateful for the opportunity to help tell this story.
realize that i went from despising stefani to somehow becoming her number one fan?!! i peeped the old no doubt storytellers and i was hooked! i love gwen, this girl is very cool- she not only has her own style, but she's actually quite tough, but balanced - her masculinity isn't all crazy out of control, like mine sometimes gets! i don't know what i'm saying anymore....i love her hair color in this pic. and yesterday i finally realized that her voice or style of singing is literally how she expresses herself - crazy, i know - i'm a slow learner! i'm getting my hair cut and colored by my friend hairdresser val next week, he'll come over to my house and do it.....i wish i could always stay in the chair....
2. my other obsession: "Rescue" - 2 amazing things happened today - my new editor is the best thing that ever happened to this film, period. the kid is genius, i not only respect and admire his talents, but we worked elbow to elbow today in a shit sweaty box filled with computers and armpits, and he ripped through the first two sequences of the film. i thanked him and he was super sweet and showed his gratitude. he called my film a "real doc", that was a major compliment. i love you will! his suggestions work and he moves quickly. i value his imput. i am not an editor and i admire folks who can do this naturally - there is no film without editing.
3. i love shooting and Rescue needs a few more shots, and this is what i'm shooting on this weekend:
i am grateful for this opportunity.
5. i am taking next week "off" - this means i'll work with will closely on Rescue, keep everyone else in the loop and pick up the found tape that we thought was lost off my other teammate = crazy girl called me tonight saying that she found it buried in her stuff at home! i am so relieved and i was completely wrong that it had been stolen...it feels great to be wrong.....i am grateful, i only wanted to find that tape. how did this happen? did i tell you that i rebuilt my crew? i added on 3 more people, when we lost our editor. i might have already said that! it's late, and i need a shower!
i am always this!
7. i asked the film and music folks of the seattle gov. to re-up my permit for a second time, for Rescue - I need to shoot with a permit or it can get complicated. They did it - I'll make the most of the next 2 1/2 weeks!
8. i am branching out, i'll hook up my resume this weekend and start applying to full time jobs, i'll land the best gig possible for the next few months - i want to work full time during the day until school starts. my internship starts after my week "off". i am excited and scared. they are waiting for me....i'll hook it up 10 hours a week for them and work my tail off and learn a ton of cool stuff....and borrow their equipment!
9. that will be nice!
10. plentyofish is heating up!
thank you for being a friend!

I, too, love/hate Gwen Stefani. I loved No Doubt and was upset when their evolution took them to a way poppier place than I was willing to go. But listening to her story and listing her talk about music is pretty damn inspiring!

Hi! I am finishing a paper and just got an urge to check in and I was so thrilled to see your post. I get the Gwen thing, she's a grower I remember my best gay friend and i literally having a relevation that we loved her when we realised don't speack was all about that guy in her band and her being dumped and she was singing all of her pain and rejection right into his face! Also you gotta love those LAMB shoes. The graffiti guy sounds like an amazing contact, people are comin to you now when they want a job well done, I predict more of this in the future!
Take care and thanks for taking the time to inspire us, I know you don't have much time to spare and I appreciate it
love meds

i know what you're saying, i think alot of fans felt this way - you know that i'm a pop junkie, so i'm not a good judge of the pre-pop no doubt sound. i love her to death now, she's all heart and soul! very unique voice - i like it!
