And Her House Burnt Down
Friday afternoon, in a matter of a few hours, my sister lost all of her possessions. There is little left of the heritage building that recently had become her home. She is a strong woman and I know she will find a silver lining in this tragic loss, but at least no lives were lost, not even of the canine or feline variety. So lucky, so sad.
Feel free to read my thoughts and reflections on this...
kindly

Let me know what she needs, if anything. The mamas on this site were so great when I went through my own house fire 4 years ago.

How's she doing?

My thoughts are with your sister right now - good to hear she has support and it is nice that you are nearby, my family saved my sanity as I worked through what it meant to lose my home and everything in it.

She doing surprisingly well--despite there being explosions etc, her photos survived@! she told me before she got back to town, that she would only really miss her photos (seeing as everyone was okay) and then even with blast out the window, and roof caving in, the albums on the shelf made it, as did the bin of photos under the bed. Her ipod was blown out the front window by the blast, onto the beach! but she's not sure if it works...
then, the vintage kitty cookie jar that was on her self (i gave her many years ago, and noticed she still had it on my last visit) it was fully in tact. Funny... what makes it and what doesn't.
She has a good community on the coast and three others who are going through the same loss.
again, thanks.
