Motorboy laughed for the first time today!
It was the most amazing joyful thing i've ever experienced in my life. I inspired him to laugh by waving my arms around and talking to him like a blabbering idiot. I'm completely swollen with the most amazing feeling that's sort of like pride, but what a silly thing to be proud of because I mean all babies laugh eventually- right, but it just feels like the biggest deal ever.
Now i'm just blathering.

if i do say so myself, there is NOTHING in the world of mamahood like that first laugh! being able to make your baby giggle by doing silly things is like..... a non-sexual orgasm, if that makes any sense. it's the most wonderful feeling, and i'm so freaking happy that you're experiencing it for the first time. keep on giggling with him, motor!
Isn't that so fun?! I still get a kick out of making T laugh. They are such social creatures, especially around laughing- I find it fascinating. When T was really little I'd zoom towards her face saying "ooooooooooooah!" and she thought it was hysterical. I felt like the funniest, most fascinating comic on earth.
Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough. -- Emily Dickinson
You want to do what you think is right and what matters to you, and if other people don't like it, as my father would have said, they can go fuck themselves. -- Amy Bloom
Plato thought that a first laugh was when a human being got their soul. He thought it happened at 45 days - possible - but not likely.
Congrats.

Thanks for bringing back a good memory by sharing!
