BN- I was really hoping that motorboy would have made his appearance by now, but there's nothin' goin' down at donutland. I guess I know that pregnancy is not like an easy bake oven- the timer does not just ding at 40 weeks and let you take out you your delicious piping hot son, but i still feel vaguely disappointed.
GN- With every day that passes the less i feel scared and nervous and the more I feel anxious and excited. I guess those affirmations are good for something, because I'm starting to get the feeling that giving birth is gonna be great!

BN- I woke up with a monster head cold this morning. All i want to do is sleep it off, but I can't sleep because every time i drift off I start snoring so loud that i wake myself up.
GN- After months of wrangling and pulling strings we finally have a completed bathroom with a small but functional bathtub (and it only cost us 3 dinners out at a restaurant for the friends involved). SO i was able to soak and steam my aches and pains away for a while, and motorman is waiting on me hand and foot.
BN- Our fridge and freezer broke down. Leaving us with a freezer full of ready made meals dethawing faster than we can possibly eat them. So much for food nesting. We have no idea when we're ever going to be able to afford to replace it.
GN- We just happen to have a dorm fridge (don't ask me why or how) that we are going to set up in the mean time for absolute necessities, and we live so close to everything that it's not really that big a deal to do daily grocery shopping while we figure out. It's just a pain in the ass, and not something i wanted to put the mister through during our postpartum adjustments. (God knows I'm not going to be hauling baby and boobies down to the market every day for the first few weeks after my birthing oddessey.)
BN- My asshat neighbours are trying to get us evicted, and it seems like the landlord is swallowing their horseshit. This is about the same issue that the police verbally spanked them for even bothering to report us for, but it seems that the landlord is taking it very seriously.
GN- It's very difficult to evict people here, even if we were ilegal occupants who had never paid rent they would have to fight tooth and nail to get us out of here. Since we are upstanding citizens who pay the rent and utilities consistently there's about a 1 in 50 chance they could get us out of here, and will probably desist when they find out that we have a lawyer. I'm guessing that all of the old tight asses involved think we're too poor to afford one- which we are... but An ex-student of mine is a lawyer and promised to take the case and says there is no reason to worry. He's going to do it for free because I remind him of his expatriate daughter who just had a baby in the U.S. with her American husband.
So how cool is that? I have a friend/aquaintence network that refinishes bathrooms and sorts out legal problems. Sure beats the mean cruel ugly tight pinched faces and (in the case of one of the old men) town-wide fame for being notorious assholes that my neighbours have.
Anyway there's good news in every case so I'm feeling overwhelmingly positive despite this week's lemon rain. Who cares if the universe pisses on you when you've got some bitchin' umbrellas right?
I'll get to a nice bathroom and leaky breast pad photo dump when the head cold lets off.

Well,

it sounds like in the end, it'll be okay? I hate assholes! My midwife said that boys are very often late...so relax!

Do you need anything for the baby (or you)?

I believe it will be ok

But perhaps not in the way that i would prefer it to be ok. I believe that everything for me is always ok in the end- but sometimes i get a little beat up and dragged around in the process. Anyway i really do believe that all of this will be sorted out with minimal trauma.
The only thing we need is a car seat, motorman promised we would go look for one on wednesday- so maybe that's what my boy's waiting for. We live across the street from the hospital anyway- so it's not like we're going to need one to bring the baby home.

I like that "good news-bad news" idea

too bad about the freezer meals and the stupid neighbors ... guess you can't ask the neighbors if they'll store some of your defrosting freezer meals in THEIR freezer? ha!

but sounds nice to take a bath (and have one to take once the babe is born)

you are in my daily thoughts and I'm sending you a big hug!!
