to cut, or not to cut?
here it is ladies...my daughters' hair grows directly into their eyes. i tried everything to keep it pulled back, but you know babies. the rubberband, the barrette, the headband, is off in two seconds.
i cut bangs for my oldest two when they were toddlers. now, again, with my third, everyone says i should let her hair grow out however it goes... but i just cant stand that she cant see with all the hair in her eyes!
what would you mamas do?

What's wrong with cutting her some bangs? If it's in her eyes and bothering her then I would just cut it.
Cut. My daughter, who is now eight still gets food in her hair... so, I still cut. If it's in the eyes or in knots, or full of food, off it comes...
Good luck with that

Once dd started having issues (and her hair grows SOOOOO SLOW) I started snipping!
By the time it got to this point I was a single mom in school - fuck it, I cut her bangs and then once it started getting ratty everywhere else I trimmed that, too.

Well, I tried. I let the hair grow. It didn't work. DD looked like a Shetland pony and couldn't see anything. She wouldn't bear anything in her hair for long so the hair always as hanging in her eyes again. So off the curtain went...

My kids have curly hair and this has never been an issue for me, but whenever my oldest starts to have issues with his hair being in his face, we cut his hair. You can wait till she is older for her to decide if she wants to use devices to pull her hair back or if she wants to deal with it differently. For now, do you really need the frustration? I know I don't!

my 2yo's hair hangs in her face and eyes but it honestly doesn't even bother her. guess who it DOES bother?? her grandmothers, haha. they're CONSTANTLY trying to tuck it behind her ears but it's unruly and curly like her dad's so it just doesn't work; my mother is always bitching "cut that girl's hair!" and i just ignore her because it doesn't bother me OR the baby. so my advice here, i guess, would be to do whatever the heck you want to; if you don't want to cut that soft, freshly grown toddler hair then don't! but if it's bugging you-- and her-- then snip it!
I tried to grow their bangs out. There was a a *brief* moment when both of them would tolerate barrettes and I was so excited, I thought I would let their bangs grow NOW and spare us all the traumatic "first-grade, hair-in-eyes" phase. Right. After a torturous in-law visit in which no one could stop asking me why I hadn't trimmed the girl's bangs yet. I cut. Too short and very uneven. Just like all the other delinquent parents that I swore I was "more aesthetic" than. Hah!
hmm nessa is 5 and never had a haircut nope not once not ever i just let it grow till it would go to the side.

you've got so many other things to spend your energy on. let this one go. Cut it.
