RIP, Michael.

michael jackson died?
Dude!! Where have you been?!!?
combination of self regulating and a weird summer schedule.
i mean no disrespect to MJ's death itself, by the way. i'm just rather disgusted with how it's being marketed, and how whatever talent he may have had, he was always worth more as a drug addict, child molester, and now a dead celebrity than as a person. we have a coup in honduras, n korea threatening to bomb hawaii on independence day, US citizens in israeli jail, a massive military campaign in afghanistan, british citizens being tried for inciting riots in iran.... and if you put on any news channel, it's about the contents of MJ's stomach, and how much people are going to pay for tickets to his funeral.
really were cool.
He was a tremendous person, a thoroughly creative being. He is the Bach of our time; his music and influence will reverberate for centuries. I wasn't even a huge fan of his but I cried for days when I heard the news. it's so funny, I didn't consider myself a Michael Jackson fan but then I realized how many of his songs are on my favorites list! and his dancing, I could watch him dance for hours. I remember when MTV (maybe it was VH1) used to run those Michael Jackson video marathons years and years ago...I'd be flipping channels and happen to turn to it, and just like that, mesmerized into watching the whole thing.
It was so obvious that this great talent, this genius, was a sad and in some ways, broken man. I'm glad he had the chance to have a family, I feel in my heart his children brought great love and peace to his life and that he loved them so very much. I hope at the end he wasn't...scared too much, and that he felt some peace and release at the last moments. yes, RIP Michael.
I was shocked when I heard the news too. I was a huge fan when I was little; but later got more into new wave and punk. Kind of surprising that so many people feel this, we don't even know this man and he is a part of our history and a part of our lives. I spent hundreds of hours as a kid, watching MTV and dancing along or making up my own moves.
I remember learning all the steps to Thriller in the 8th grade with friends. good times! His music was in many ways on the soundtrack of my teen years, though then like now I never considered myself a big fan...I guess because I wasn't like the ones fainting and falling-out at his concerts. But I was a fan, and just amazed at his creativity.
his little girl's grief just cut me clean in two, have mercy *cries*

Just sad that he passed, aware of how much he meant to me (and my dancer daughters), and I think this is a great song and the dancing is awesome.
