There was actually not a filthy thing about herThat's right, I met Madame Filth last night (and baby Filth who wondered how I knew her name)...as they drove a bit across the state to my film screening.

ooh, hip mama meet up!
glad you guys had fun! what movie was it? anything i'd have heard of, or is it something local for you guys?
"who does she think she is?"
i can't remember where i came across this trailer, but i posted it here a while ago. it was just released on dvd's but dynamom hosted a screening at a women's club in NJ.

"You're on a first name basis with lucidity, my friend. I have to call him Mr Lucidity, and that's no good in a pinch."
come out
ha...
heh..i assure you, i am quite filthy.
and i will share that dynamom has the most beautiful eyelashes i've seen. i recognized her instantly, but the eyelashes didn't come through in the posted pictures. and a soft, feminine voice. not a weak voice, just very smooth and feminine. and lil' dyna is lovely.
you did a nice job setting stuff up, with the snacks and everything. and lil' filthy loved the big yard.
it was a really good movie, i'm glad i saw it there, rather than at home on dvd. i thought they chose good artists to feature, but i was definitely wondering about the woman artists i know of now who are showing their work in galleries, wondering if they were approached and if so did they decline to participate. i LOVED that woman in arizona. i was wishing she were my mom. and the mormon's sculptures were awesome.
anyway, yeah women's clubs tend to be conservative, people from affluent families and whatnot. i don't recall if i've ever been inside one. i was disappointed that there weren't more artists in attendance. ('cept the one you invited to speak) maybe because there was a showing six weeks prior relatively nearby?
i'm actually out that way like twice a month, there are lots of nice parks and placed to look at wildlife. since i no longer live at the ocean, that area has become my haven for relaxing in nature. it's a beautiful area.

come out
Madame, you'll make me blush!
The thing with the recent showing 6 weeks prior was they had two shows both sold out...so I advertised around here and around there hoping that those that couldn't make it would drive the 15 minutes up Rt. 31 to get their chance. I had one other artist lined up and then she flaked on me. I could have reached out more but just didn't ever get around to it.
Oh well. We did spend a lot of money on the film that we didn't make back but we have some other fundraisers lined up so we'll make it back in other ways. To me, to be able to have had the resources to show it to the ones that did come, that did really want to see it, though the group was small---no matter. We did it. We got the movie here and I got to see it, as you did you and our daughters and the other smart and lucky few
The artist that came to speak said she laughed at the Mormon artist's daughter lamenting the graphic statues around the house because she herself had a father that painted erotic nudes and she was a little embarrassed herself during high school years. I asked her if she thought that was one of the reasons why she was drawn to ultimately illustrating (and authoring) children's books and she laughed, "yeah maybe"...
I really loved the "Domestic Goddess" line of artwork by Edith Vonnegut http://edithvonnegut.com/domestic1.html and wondered if she had declined being in the film...
Thanks again so much for coming. It was a lovely surprise.
