Oh yes that is right. I was stubborn at the time it came out, and wanted nothing to do with because of all the hype. I don't know what I was thinking. What a great book. I really think all mail should be delivered by owl. You know, that must be the wave of the future. Smile I get sucked in and can't put it down. I am only 6 years late I know. I am on to number 3 now. In seven days. Hopefully the longer ones will keep me going at least a week. The only thing bad about this is that the kids keep asking me questions but phrasing them wrong, and asking if "this" has happened. When it hasn't happened it yet and they give it away. Arghhgh.

I love them. The last book

I love them. The last book is phenomenal (I read it too fast and was almost distraught when I finished)- it's really amazing how the story seems so seamless- there are details that become important in later books, and the character development is fantastic.
I should try to get my mom to read them again- she started the first book a few years ago and didn't get why I liked them so much. Can't wait till Ella's old enough to read them with me.

heh

I was the same, about all the hype. Until a British friend of mine sat me down and made me read the first one- this when I think there were 3 of them out? Sometimes the hype is spot on.

I'm kinda jealous that you have it all in front of you!

sigh, I love Harry Potter.

They are good, huh?

My house is re- reading them all in one big HP marathon. I just finished 3 last night and I'm a few chapters into 4. My husband is on five and my son is listening to 2 on audio. I would really reccomend the audio, they are phenominal.

I really like the audio

I really like the audio too!!! Jim Dale is great.

Thinking this over and I think it's the audio that sucked me in, at the beginning. My British friend gave me her tapes (LOL! It was on TAPE!!!!) of Stephen Fry reading Book 1 (that's who did the audio books in the UK- Stephen Fry! I love Stephen Fry!!!) and I loved it so much I went out and bought the book. Then I was hooked for real.

I really got into these books

Callum's reading #3 right now and keeps coming up to me with tidbits. I read them all in a big Harry Potter orgy (ewww) about five months ago, with the excuse that I was "screening" them for the kids. Yeah....Riiight.
As a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan I'm excited to see my boy enjoying these books. I also just got "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeline L'Engle out on book CD for the kids and plan to start playing that on crappy weather after school times. I hope they love it as much as I did when I was 10.
