spring partyHad a party at my house last night. Spring Party! It's funny how there were really three parties going on. In the front of the house was the high school party. They drank sodas and sang karaoke and played "apples to apples". In the middle of the house was the college kid party. They drank booze and played acoustic guitar and ukulele and sang folk songs. In the back of the house was the grown up party. They drank beer and talked about metal shows and how much they hate their jobs. The high school party was mostly white kids, the college kid party was mostly Asian kids, and the grown up party was mostly Mexican kids. Although, all three parties had variety, including African-American kids. Oakland kind of party. Also, all three parties spent some time, during different phases of the evening, on the laptop watching youtube videos. A much more subdued party than the ones with metal bands and a mosh pit in the dining room, but a little less nervewracking. The new guy was the grill master, BTW. Oh, man, it's funny how I'm digging on such a man-man. He's growing a beard until opening day for the Oakland A's, he talks about wanting to go fishing, he's all about the bbq. Of course, he also attended to the barfy college kid--which was so helpful. He's a great guy--I'm torn. He says he wants to move back to Maine before the end of the year. Maybe I should just not go any further with this--I could certainly get attached to this guy. On the other hand, his desire to go back seems to be a reflection of his job discontent and lack of steady girlfriend. Too soon to tell. Guess I'll talk to him and maintain detachment for the moment. __________________
