so i'm finishing my sixth cigarette-free day. all of your suggestions and encouragement has been really helpful, and i am proud to say that i haven't even cheated once! today was actually the first day that i really really wanted to smoke, which makes sense because i'm not sick anymore, and i was doing a lot of house work, which is a big time trigger for me. i always used to reward myself for getting different tasks done by going outside for a smoke, which gave me an excuse to sit down for a minute, too. today, i ate a girl scout cookie between each task, and made sure to relax for a second, which sort of worked. i am a bit concerned that i'm going to put a lot of weight because of this! even so, it will definitely be worth it. plus, i think that with springtime coming on, i should be able to even things out a bit, since i won't be so winded on bike rides. being a non smoker will finally (i'm hoping) allow me to ride circles around matty, which might even encourage him to quit too!

I can't remember if this was in the other thread, but you can always reward yourself with deep breathing breaks.

You can so do this.
