yep. no baby this month. we tried a lot harder this time so I was feeling a bit more hopeful than I had the past couple months. but now that my period has come I'm feeling the relief of knowing one way or the other.

also the man and I did some good bonding this weekend. we are already really close, but really we've only known one another for just under a year and a half which really isn't THAT long. this weekend, after some good fighting of course, we ended up sorting out some really good stuff and feeling MUCH closer because of it. we're both feeling like "wow, I didn't realize we could get CLOSER!". feels really good to both of us and reminds me that I have one good man in my life. really fills my heart.

and I had my first really strong image of us as a family pop into my head yesterday. made me smile.

I don't know about this new hipmama format but I sure do love you ladies : )

its totally a reward.
we've had some of the best sex we've ever had these last couple days. my guy things we should REALLY try this month by having sex EVERY DAY. I don't think my poots can do EVERY day but I'm thinking every other could be very useful (not only for baby making but for learning about eachother).

I'm jumping back on the roller coaster.
yipee!!!

Fighting & F*cking

It's a tough mix. And to counter our hopes and prayers and wishes and expectations are pressure and disappointment and self-critique.

I would be lying if I said I didn't think all of the above put a strain on things in our own preconception path. Of course it does!

But we as couples and potential (if sometimes impatient) parents do what we can do until we can't do it anymore. And then we do something else.

All of this is to say, I think when the stakes are high during preconception that the bar for civility in a relationship sometimes sinks. Making-up is harder to do but even more rewarding.

Hang in there. It's gonna happen for all of us. It's in the stars.

totally true!! after my

totally true!!

after my third month of trying, a friend of mine thoughtfully remarked "I thought you just had to have unprotected sex to get pregnant! I didn't realize it was so complicated". I think I"m still a bit surprised myself. I guess for many it ISN'T this complicated. and for myself, a young and healthy 26 year old, I just thought it would be a try or two and poof! a baby would arrive. I guess that's not in my cards right now. I've been hoping and pining for a family/baby/kids since age 12 so what's a few more months or years anyhow?!

thanks for you thoughts
