HOLY CRAP IT'S OVER!

I finished the Follies. I've been living, eating it and breathing it for 3 months. It's over, it was rad. I made a wee bit of cash, I made the sponsors happy, I made some other people some cash and I promoted a lot of really awesome woman owned businesses! WOOOO!

Next stop, women's festival based in Riverwest and some kind of promo thang for Ms. Carol Leonard methinks! We shall see how it all pans out. Crazy that I'm doing this stuff after being ultramom for three years. This was the type of shit I did for the 5 years prior to meeting DH. Crazy how being a mama can add that needed confidence. Now that I'm back in the game I'm fairly smokin'. Now I've just got to iron it all out, take stock and make some decisions. This was hard mamas. I've been running like mad and I made something like $3 an hour on this job...lol. I know I can improve my game and it can be a lot more lucrative in the future but dude, it was a lot of time away from my kids and hubby. Oh, and I started smoking cigs again...bah! Gonna try to cease this week because it's making me really sick. The stress was intense though and It's my number one crutch in times like this.

WHERE AM I GONNA LIVE??

We're trying to figure out where to be. Circumstances are pointing to at least 3 more years in MKE, we are pre-approved for a loan and are looking for a house. DHs job seems fairly stable (and there ain't none in the pac NW), I've got a lot going on here, kids are making friends, I've got a few mama friends (two of whom are preggers!!!) and though I REALLY miss my family and want to be near them, and the ovean, and the mountains, and all that coolness, I *like* it here (except the weather, the weather sucks ASS). So I'm seriously torn. Any thoughts?

Pros of staying
***
Awesome school options (PUBLIC MONTESSORY!!)
WAY cheaper to live
MKE is the first Fair Trade City in the US!
15 farmers markets in MKE alone (city of 500,000! that's amazing!)
Amazing opportunity to advance my art and promo skillz
I love my volunteer stuff!
Kids like it here
we have SEASONS!
Affordable housing
DH's job is relatively secure
I'm making friends!

Cons
***
Far away from kith and kin (this one is huge)
Dh's hobbies are not well suited to this climate (he's a motorcycle freak and the terrain here isn't to his liking)
I miss the ocean and mountains
This climate here means at LEAST 3 months sequestered inside. And 6 months without being able to play outside.
If we buy a house we are stuck here for at least 3 years.
If we buy a house, chances are it means moving out of the city (DH has already lived in the city for 6 months longer than he agreed to) and that means being stuck at home for 6 months without the benefit of being close to amenities.
We'd have to buy a second car. (blah!)
I'd be away from my kith and kin for 3 more years (I know I said it already but that is HUGE for me).

So, what would you mamas do? I could so use your perspective mamas!

BABY FEVER

And then there is the baby fever. I've finally gotten to a place where I can advance my career and be a mom and not have to worry about being around my kiddos 24/7 and now I want another baby. WTF!? Something about seeing Baby K slow her nursing and thinking this could be the last time I ever nurse a baby totally tears me apart! She's getting so big and I am longing for a wee baby to hold. What is my issue?

thanks for readin' mamas! I've missed you all so much (I've been lurking but it's just not the same!)

I'll be ho'n soon too! Got a lot to share!

lunarmama!

The job sounds awesome and fun, it was great to read about. as far as the move, I'd stay put for a while if it was me, spread my wings a bit.

I have baby fever. I find

I have baby fever. I find myself looking at baby crap online, and asking people with babies if I can babysit.

Public Montessori sounds awesome, btw.

I want you to move here.

There are like five bank owned houses in my neighborhood I bet you could get them cheap! haha, but the job market sucks and I'm already upside down with our house.

Sounds like you're carving out an awesome life though; I know this will happen for you no matter where you live.

As for the baby lust... My kid is 8, disabled, and a ton of work and I still get the baby lust now and then. The older he gets the more having a baby just seems completely insane. Now I want all my friends to keep having babies so I can play with them!
