I'm so sad, mama's. One of my best girlfriends and I had a falling out, and she was really really harsh to me. I know she was reacting to other things going on in her life, it's clear she blew things waaaay out of proportion...but even so. She's known me well for years and our friendship is based on honest communication, and now she's called me all sorts of nastiness and says everybody feels that way but nobody will say it to me. I think that she's wrong, but it really hurts. I'm in a lot of self-doubt. She was supposed to be taking care of ds for a few days while we went on our birthday vacation, but I'm clearly not leaving him with her now, so am trying to salvage some sort of celebration but just feeling fucked. I try and try and feel like I do nothing but disappoint people. S/o is disappointed our trip is cancelled, and you can tell doesn't really want to go somewhere sharing a room with the kids, my ds is disappointed not to spend time at his friends house, and I'm left holding the bag, and feeling like shit.
Needed to vent.
edit to add: I took her off as my Costco "spouse" today, so I guess we're officially broken up, lol.

Oh mama, I'm sorry!

Something similar happened to my hubby recently, it's so sad. I don't know why people can be so harsh like that! Hugs to you, mnemosyne!

and it sucks. when someone you've known for a long time, who should know you better, says things about you that you know aren't true, it sucks.

It Sucks!

I had almost the same thing happen to me about a year ago, and I still have my moments about it now. I cried like a boyfriend left me. It is confusing and angering, and very shitty. Cheer up, you don't someone who will hurt you like that.

yeah, that's my thought too

I live in a great community, with so many great people, and I am pretty great too. I'm a good friend, and loyal. Guess it's time to move on.

Thanks for your hugs, everyone.

You know that saying: you don't really know a person

until you get into a fight. Some people don't know how to express anger or hurt without resorting to abusive tactics. And the "everybody else feels this way too" bit is just nasty. I've been told that before, and it's wrong and unnecessarily hurtful.

So sorry you have to go through this. Losing a good friend sucks, but having to put up with her crap would suck more.
