Ebay outrage.

So, I sold a pair of shoes on ebay. She didn't like them and asked to return them. I said fine; send them back and I'll refund the money. It's been 12 days since she said she mailed them back and I still haven't gotten them. She keeps asking and I've said, well, as discussed I'm happy to refund your money once I get the shoes back. I got a snippy message from her tonight about how she's never had a package lost before, etc., and I thought, oh, whatever, and emailed her back returning the money. I don't really care about the shoes, it wasn't a lot of money...whatever. BUT! At the same time I was refunding her money she was escalating the dispute to a claim! On principle I'm so irritated, that she bought these shoes, I generously agreed to a return, she didn't send them back, or at least I didn't get them, and then she's going to make this a big claim thing?!

I might be able to still fight it. It's really not worth my time. I should just let it go, right?

It's really rare that something is totally lost in the mail.

It happens, but it's rare. Fight it! People who scam are caught through reporting.

agreed!

p.s. have her provide a receipt of the shipping. They always give you one! You have proof you sent them, if she can't provide the receipt, she doesn't have proof they were returned.

She will claim? Hello, she

She will claim? Hello, she has got no right to resend the shoes. It was your good will to accept that. Fight that stupid lady!

I got burned once similar to this on Ebay. Your buyer's claim will have no value to Ebay or Paypal unless she can show proof that she mailed them. Like delivery confirmation via USPS or otherwise. I am a stickler most of the time but one time I did refund money to an international buyer who claimed she never got the item I sent just because I didn't want to deal with the hassle and it was a small amount.

i wouldn't let it go

well maybe i would depending on the amount of money. you have to keep your standing good at the site. did she offer any proof that she sent them back? isn't it really an unwritten rule that when you're dealing with ebay and anyone you don't know that you get a delivery confirmation?
You gotta work like you’ve never been hurt, fuck like you don’t need the money, and scratch like nobody’s watching.-Krystal
