Apologies to Eddie Murphy circa SNL years...
I'm gonna C-I-L-L. My. Sister.
I guess we have officially hit the one week mark on this death, burial, funeral business for my dad. My sister and I are driving each other fucking nuts on a daily basis, but it's all important stuff, all related to the service and arrangements, so neither of us can let it go nor cede our point to the other. We are both managers in our professional lives, so that doesn't help. We both want to be in charge. My sister is bigger and louder than I. I am older and slightly more stubborn. I think I have the advantage fairness wise as her M.O. is to air a particular grievance but then talk over you when you try to respond in time, shouting, "No, just listen to me!" as you try to speak. Like she thinks if I don't agree with her I must not have been listening as she is infallibly correct, what with being louder. The louder one wins the argument. This appears to be her management style. Very very hard to endure this but I can't just tell her to fuck off as it would not be cool with my grieving mother. Ahhh!!! Wish me patience and vibe my sister some anger management skills. It's hard to not set her off since she seems to be offended at my very existence rather than something I have said or done. She pretty much has never really liked me much. But tough shite, we're burying our dad, not just her dad and I get a say in what happens whether it fits in with her master plan or not. Wish me luck...

i know this is NOT an easy time for any of you, and the stress of what's going on makes it really easy to fight with your family. i hope things get easier soon, and that you and your sister can maintain a good relationship, even after all the hurt and anger you're feeling. i hope she steps back and realizes that she's making you feel bulldozed....or maybe sitting down and telling her exactly that would be helpful??
hugs, mama. it'll get better soon.
