I has some classes!
I have a schedule, and I actually like it!
There is one class that I am way intimidated by...The class is set up where English majors (like myself) will "coach" grad students who are writing a thesis.
It's a very technical writing course, and technical writer,I am not! However, the prof will be teaching us, and I keep thinking that if I listen and try, I will learn somethings that will improve my skill set and my technical writing.
Also, I am an English major so I should be able to do this, and I actually make pretty good grades.
Also on tap is an Appalachian Culture and Lit class, Art in Modern Cinema, and Modern poetry, which is probably my least fav class at this point.
Please don't hate, but I don't just love poetry.
I hope all you other schooly moms get the classes you desire and have a wonderful semester!

Nice class load, there! I like to write poetry but not so big on reading and studying other folks stuff. I'm signed up for one class, history of motion picture, and am pretty excited about it.
Here's to a productive semester! I plan on watching me lots of films, old films.
Oh, the Appalachian Culture class sounds really interesting!
And I'm totally not into poetry that much either
Are you going to study the Hatfield's & McCoy feuds in the Alps class?
I'm not sure what started the feud, though that makes me pretty lame since the Hatfield's are my kin! Hatfield is my maiden name, same lineage.
I looked it up, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatfield-McCoy_feud . The first violent incident was over a hog, but of course it ran deeper than that, property lines and such.
Don't worry, we won't hold your lineage against you
congrats again!
the only poetry i've ever been really into is emily dickenson. she blows my mind. other than that....i took a poetry appreciation class in high school and was shocked at how much i DON'T appreciate poetry. the best part of that class was that my teacher was this tiny little hippie guy and he used to bring his guitar in on fridays and play bob dylan songs for us. it was nice to just sit and listen, and not have to do any work!
I'm so pleased yu got your classes, that great!

I actually live on the fringes of App. and I know nothing about the Hatfield and McCoys except for a song that people sing around...
Kinda weird, I guess. I'm really interested in this class though because I have grown up near the area. I live in a city too big to be considered rural, but I could drive into the mnts in less than an hour.
I wanted to take an Anthropology course in the area, but I couldn't ever get it to work out, and the class I got was listed as ENGL: Special Topic, and I didn't even know what it was until I got to class, so I'm really stoked about it!
