thought "white trash" when a teacher was nasty to a preschooler.
And just to prelude this; Husbands family immigrated over from Ireland and dh is an irish citizen. I made fun of the irish dancers on t.v. last night finding the pot of gold. And dancing through the clover patches. Yup.
Instead of trying to find a new home for some ugly but still usable wallpaper that I discovered tucked in my attic storage area, I wastefully tucked it into the garbage where it will take up space and its toxins can seep into the environment and sicken us all.
***the United States is one of only four out of 168 countries studied to not have some form of paid family leave for new moms. We join Swaziland, Papua New Guinea, and Lesotho in not having that policy in place. ***
*Snicker* Um, I don't think I have time to type it all. I'll choose a couple, I guess.
- Went and ate at a fast food type place before going to the grocery store and using a WIC check (and not using my reusable bags because I ALWAYS forget them)
- bought meat that is definitely not "organic" or "free range" or whatever
every time i go grocery shopping and they say "is plastic okay?" i want to slap myself and go "D'OH! i suck!"
what can we do to remember them?!? they're in my car, i just never remember to bring them into the store!!
ps-the winter noa was born i was on TANF (monthly cash assistance from the state) and one time i used eight bucks of the money to buy a six pack of magic hat. i felt like the biggest scumbag EVER, but all i wanted was a couple beers and i had a two month old baby and wasn't working...i drank 2 of those beers a night for three days and by the last day i was finally at peace with it. i was like "HAHA, state of new hampshire!! you make me sit and wait in a dingy cold room for like an hour every couple weeks so you can harass me and make me fill out more paperwork to prove that i'm poor! and now i will enjoy these beers as a reward, BWAHAHAH!"
but i never had the balls to do anything like that again, because it just didn't feel right. sort of.

that's not politically incorrect, that's awesome. i want to see it!

Ugh.
I'm ashamed to even say.
Let's just say that well... I live in the suburbs, I needed fabric and some groceries as well as some craft supplies and party stuff I had less than an hour to get my shopping done because DH had an appointment to get to, plus we still don't have mail service so I needed to hit the PO and also get home for DS's school bus.
I was completely shocked. The store was clean, the people who worked there were courteous, they had most of what I needed and I walked away not quite feeling like I had sold my soul.
DH raised an eyebrow when he saw the bags though. Whatevs. I take really good care of this family on a decent budget and mostly manage to keep us organic and support small business. The occasional foray into the dark side is not going to make THAT big of a difference in the long run. Honestly, even at christmas this year, everything we had was homemade or bought at a small business. I don't feel guilty.
well, right now I'm watching TV and blogging with Thalia sleeping on my lap. (recently a friend of ours st up a screen so their baby doesn't watch TV when they do cos it'll screw up their brain development. OK! I kinda think this is ridiculous but sometimes I feel bad cos I'm training my kid to watch TV.)
Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough. -- Emily Dickinson
You want to do what you think is right and what matters to you, and if other people don't like it, as my father would have said, they can go fuck themselves. -- Amy Bloom
Picked up Camus shit in a plastic bag and threw it in the garbage can. Do they make biodegradable doggie poop bags???
Everything we eat comes from a chain grocery store. So, there's that.
Let my son watch TV all day. So glad school starts back up tomorrow!
Yesterday:
Went to DD's dentist
Had our meeting of women and their children here (we now us since our babies were born and meet every second week)
Had sex
Today:
Laundry
Buy a small book (pixie) for DD (because she had made her pooh ten times into her potty)
...the lover, the dreamer, and me (Jim Henson)
Read PC as "personal computer", not as "political correct". *grin* Dentist IS PC as I had sex with DH... Hah.
But maybe having sex isn't pc?
Bought Soda...for my sick kid
Threw away shriveled up old frozen blueberries, in a plastic container.
Tossed used kitty litter into the trash in a plastic baggie from the evil empire...
I am in between recyclers right now since I have to fire my old one, since he never calls and is inconsistent in coming and I now have 2 months of recycling cluttering up my home and garage. I have thrown away a few things cause I am sick of it..

tuesday at work i told one of the (many) homeless people around my office that they couldn't use our bathroom, and then yelled at a coworker who did let him, then proceeded to call him a "hobo". yep. i am the dalai frikkin lama these days.
At work, you think of the children you have left at home. At home, you think of the work you've left unfinished. Such a struggle is unleashed within yourself. Your heart is rent.
