Is it just terrible that I found much more time at my job to write here than I do at home? Just shows how much real work I did there. Things are going well in my new "career". Third week and I'm not going crazy yet. I have had lots to do, but I am completely satisfied so far. I have been baking, organizing, having tickle fights, and of course, cleaning like I have OCD. I like knowing what my girl is doing every minute of the day. Not guessing about how she is at daycare. I have to say I feel really great. Except for the terrible cold I have right now. Figures.
The difficult part of this transition is being responsible for all her meals. She rejects all vegetables. I try to put them in everything but she manages to pick every single bit out. How do you get your toddlers to eat good things? Please help. I feel like she's not getting what she needs.

finicky kids
My kid likes veggies, but some of his friends don't, so when they come over, I let them help me shop for the food they will help prepare, and they always like to taste while we cook, and they usually (I've only seen this fail once) are very excited to try the food they "made". The kid that refused to eat what he cooked was interested in "edible paintings". I put a painter's apron on each kid, set out a plastic table cloth, and gave each kid some veggie and fruit sticks, set out applesauce, hummus, tahini dip, and ranch in bowls, and let them paint on plates. They liked licking the "paint" off thier "brushes" and eating thier artwork when they were done. A friend of mine swears by a book called "Feed Me I'm Yours" good luck, and happy eating!

August is the pickiest eater
August is the pickiest eater ever. I keep thinking it will get better with age. He's 5 ~ so far it hasn't. He sometimes won't eat anything, hates fast food, corndogs, french fries, etc. says food makes his stomach hurt....When I took him in for his Kindergarten check-up our pediatrician said he seemed fine and said that a good rule to follow is that I choose what, he chooses how much. Looks good on paper, but I'm not sure what to do when he turns down all choices. Last night though, he ate a few bites of salad. We were shocked beyond belief but tried not to show it. I too have known kids who live on cheerios, but my son won't touch them.
Can't force it
I'm also a MPE. (Mama of a Picky Eater.) My daughter eats healthy foods, but a very limited repertoire. She's two and I have faith she'll get better with age. I spike her juice with a vitamin supplement (Schiff Children's peach flavor liquid vitamins - I highly recommend the stuff), and keep presenting good food to her. (Over and over and over and over...you know how it is.)
