DH and I are trying to budget our vacations this year and I have an uncle in PA who we can stay with who is also within driving distance to S*same Place and Hers*ey Park. Has anyone been there? The girls will be almost 5 and 3.5 so I need to do some more research but I was thinking these would both be okay. I only want to do one, so I wanted to check here first. Thanks, mamas and happy Monday.

wait a minute

there is an actual sesame street theme park?? How did I not know this, I am the biggest sesame street fan ever! I just looked it up...it's awesome, we are so going there asap. All this time I thought Sesame Place was a brand of toys for sesame street LOL, because I've seen it on the tags of sesame street plush dolls (I look for them at thrift shops), I had no idea it was an actual place. oh boy, you have made my day Smile

I've never been to hershey park either but have heard of it before, and that it's a cool visit for school age kids.

Happy to make your day,

Happy to make your day, mama! Oh, and Putamayo just put out a CD that features Sesame street music from all over the world. Yes, I am a huge fan, too!

Go to Sesame!

Now I haven't been to Hershey Park for years and years...so maybe it's really great, I don't know. But we've been to Sesame Place a few times over the past 5 years and I just love it. It is the PERFECT amusement park for the under-8 crowd. Everything is geared to kids, so even the "biggest" roller coaster would thrill any preschooler/young kid but be totally boring to a 10 year old. There are 2 parades a day featuring all the characters, there are really fun water rides/activities, shows, climbing things, etc, etc.
We always smuggle a bunch of food in in our towel bag and eat that all day and then finally break down and get $10 chicken nuggets around 4.
It's a really great little kid place!!

I was leaning more towards

I was leaning more towards SP so you just helped my decision! When I looked at HP, the website was overwhelming so I'm not sure I could handle a whole day there! Thanks, G.

sesame place for sure

especially at those ages.
hershey's is like a huge advertisement with lots of fun rides but sesame place has rides, water fun, and education fun as well. I had so much fun there and I am looking forward to taking my kids next summer when we visit. I grew up kind of near both places and went as a kid. sesame place was closer and better so i went there more.

Sesame Place!!!

Is the way to go with little ones. You can even set up meals with Elmo! Hershey IMHO is better with older children. That and like Meeshel said it's like a huge advertisement.

It is a win-win for them:

It is a win-win for them: they go free and SP gets free publicity. I guess the benefits of having a reality show.
