Big poll! Cork board vs Dry erase magneticHELP! I'm trying to set up a school area for ALL the paperwork and to-do's in my new life as a room parent and kindergarten mama. Cork board or Magnetic dry erase? I like the look of cork but worry about push pins dropping on floor. I like magnets, but hate dry erase marker smells or losing them. help. __________________

That's funny because he just got both to try out. We just hung up or cork board. Well actually now that I think about it, the other things we got are from ikea via craigslist, but they are metallic rectangles with big blocky magnets, but I don't think it doubles as dry erase.
I guess I'll see what we like better soon enough.

sticky notes work well
high up on a clean painted wall
and maybe some shelves or "bill slot" type things hung a bit high too.
That works well with little kids, and can be a system that your older kids can use.
I wouldn't recommend the other two, for the reasons you listed.
Some really strong magnets on the fridge work too.
I have paperwork spread throughout the house.
