My son broke his arm

on the same day that his bike was stolen, which was Monday. Today my son, Ocean, or Oe as we call him sometimes, had a big red cast running from arm pit to thumb put on his arm. He had a complete break right above the elbow. Also, today at the local skate/bike park an older kid had the nerve to show up on my kid's bike. I say nerve, because it's well known in our neighborhood that all the boys at our house are bmx'ers, and ride the park on the regular. The bikes the kids took were bmx bikes! So DP was all over it, and got his bike back. So that was two bikes stolen, 2 bikes recovered, and one broken arm.
broken arm means no swimming lessons, no guitar lessons, no soccer, and no bmx'ing for a little while anyway.

Thanks!

Yeah, DP went up to the kid and said
"hey, nice bike"
and the kid said "yeah, I know."
to which DP replied "yeah it's my step son's, get the hell off it."

and the kid did.

Thanks!

I still can't believe he broke his arm. I just want to hug him, but he's like
'get off me, I have a broken arm. will you buy me some candy because I have a broken arm?'

Thanks for the get better quick wishes!

DP is so proud of himself for getting it back. It's cute. He is posting about it on his BMX message board.

Both my boy's bikes were stolen, and now he has gotten them both back, and my boys are super stoked! Although Oe is some what less stoked seeing that his arm is temporarily mangled.

ack!

I hope he feels better soon. I know how you feel, between my two boys there has been a broken thumb, fractured wrist, dislocated arm, cracked heads requiring ER visits and several sprained ankles.

and they actually think I'm 'over-reacting' when I tell them to be careful! when they are biking/skateboarding/jumping out of trees/etc.

Thanks for the well wishes!

This is Ocean's second broken arm. Last time though it was the other arm, and not as major of a break.
I'm thinking with 4 kiddos running about there will prolly be more trips to the ER in our future.
(yay.)
I hope your boys don't get to well known around the ER either.

Thanks

He's got a big red cast on his arm, and insisting that he is not going to change the shirt he is currently wearing...and he thinks it's treat time all the time now. So he must be doing a little better.

I just feel awful for him! He keeps trying to do things, then remembers that his arm is broken!

Yeah, we had a rough early

Yeah, we had a rough early week, but it's getting better! His arm is hurting him, and he is having trouble adjusting to his new temporary limitations.
He thinks he should have candy whenever he wants it too!
