I dated a day trader a few years ago. He showed me how he worked. Basically, he watched all these jerk-offs gambling on the internet, and looked for gambling trends. Not for value of goods or services produced by the companies he was buying into or selling off. Gambling trends. And, of course, gambling is an attempt to get something for nothing. At the casino, you figure the Mob has it all rigged, but still you hope for the jackpot. If you win too much, they kick you out. The house holds the cards--they aren't going to let the tourists from Muleshoe, KS bleed 'em dry.
Why do Wall Street gamblers forget this? Why do they think that if they slap the word "investment" on something, it makes it not gambling? Why do they think the deal isn't rigged?
Anyway, when I saw what was really up with the Wall Street gamblers, I was nearly ill with fear. Our entire economy is based on gambling. Let me say it again. OUR ENTIRE ECONOMY IS BASED ON GAMBLING.
Investors are gambling addicts who are betting large sums of money.
The game is rigged.
We are f*cked.
