It's been a while, but here's 10 on a Sunday...
)Ambition has finally returned to me...woke up at a decent hour and managed to get the dishes done while listening to NPR and waiting for my breakfast to be done.
)Ambition part II: Volunteered to man a voter registration table this afternoon downtown. I get to do my part for the cause and people watch at the same time.
)Breakfast:Roasted yukon gold potatoes with hatch chiles, red onion, garlic, cilantro and tomato. Plus fresh ground "super dark" coffee with cream.
)Morning Songbird Soundtrack: A mix of old school punk, alt country and the new Amanda Palmer CD.
)It's the Autumn Equinox...the end of a very long year is nigh...
)Had a nice playdate yesterday with a mother from my Autism Moms group. One of the quitest playdates on record, unless you count her little boy's tendency to shriek instead of verbalizing...but Maggie dug his shrieking, so that was cool. They drew on the outdoor wall with sidewalk chalk and watched child friendly Japanime.
)Lived through running the office for three days with my boss away at a conference. Got to have a temp this time, so I am not having to do my traditional go make up work on Sunday routine!Yay!
)School conferences went moslty well. Have some issues with Maggie's reading comprehension scores, mostly having to do with abstract thinking, which is hard for autistic kids, but we'll work on it. I'm thinking of having her do storyboards/cartoons of her reading assignments to help her visualize them better.
)Got tickets to Gogol Bordello (motto: "Think Locally, F@#k Globally" next week. It should be a nice little contingent I'm going with Boycorbid, my best friend, a girl from work and some other assorted friends and friends of friends.
)It's 10:45 am, the kids are at their dad's, Boycorbid is sleeping in and I am able to sit back for a few minutes and surf the web guilt free as I have been productive this morning!
Peace Love and Happy Autumn Soltice, my mamas!
