I hate the girl scouts, for my own reasons, but I seriously doubt they were actually growing weed, or even aware the weed was there.

that's exactly what i was thinking. the last paragraph mentions that the plants were found in a 'remote swampy area' of the camp accessible only by 'wading through muck' or taking a canoe. so i doubt that the girl scouts had any knowledge of this. btw, did you read the comment under the article? it pretty much summed it up for me.
