Orgasmic Birth!

Submitted by peculiar old bird on Tue, 05/06/2008 - 1:07pm.

I received this e-mail this morning, and had to share it with all of you!

Dear Friends,

I came across this doing some research lately and wanted to make sure you all know about it. The website shows a very inspiring trailer. Seems like birth is again the subject on the table. Here in Montreal the paper has been running some stories about birth, the latest one spoke about Quebec wanting to set up more birth centers. My husband said that there are already numerous birth centers in Quebec, but people are unaware...it' s called the HOME!

Let's keep the conversation alive.

Orgasmic Birth -- the documentary!

ABC's 20/20 will be airing a segment about Orgasmic Birth on May 16th for their special Mother's Day show.
Now THERE's a gift that mothers will really appreciate!

Interviews with Christiane Northrup, MD, Ina May Gaskin, MA, CPM, Sarah J Buckley, MD, Marsden Wagner, MD

Joyous, sensuous and revolutionary, this pioneering film will compel many to reexamine their perceptions about childbirth. Viewers will understand how the use of normal, undisturbed birthing methods can aid the health and well-being of future generations.

I love your husband's comment!!! I will tell everyone I know about this (I already do with The Business of Being Born)...there are so many misconceptions about birth and particularly about normal or "natural" childbirth. I get lots of funny looks when I say that's what we are planning. And oooh boy, just say you're having a homebirth and a midwife and people get visions of hippy dippy witchy ceremonies. Drives me batty.

NOt my husband who said that, but it is cool!

I stopped telling people what our birth plans were for that very reason.

I agree- it only makes sense to make this option more widely available, again.
Yesterday was international day of the midwife, so that post was right on pob!
I could honestly say that both of my homebirths were joyous, sensous and revolutionary (to me anyways), and orgasmic in a really huge, holistic way.
