10 things I learned today before lunch:

1.Sometimes it takes someone you admire to point out the truth before you see it.

2.I have a lot of options open to me, and I don't have to decide on one right now.

3.A lot of options can be stressful, but it's better than no options at all.

4.I DO have enough credits to minor in Classics.

5.I CAN take Greek alongside Spanish in order to get into grad school as a Classics major, if I so choose.

6.I DON'T have to go to grad school if I don't want.

7.A skinny latte with three packets of Splenda tastes good.

7a.Splenda is bad for you, I looked it up.

8.My barista is allergic to adhesive tape. What?

9.I can coast my bicycle all the way from the Classics Dept. building to the coffeeshop without pedaling even once.

10.The person in thing #1 that I really admire? She admires me back. I think we might be friends. Can you be friends with your college professor?

I didn't know you were contemplating it. (And if it's your profs telling you that you *should* go to grad school, consider the source.) My husband went to grad school in Classics, I in biology (VERY different), let me know if you want any insights, advice, thoughts.

I became friends with my advisor (undergrad and master's) before I graduated, which made things a bit awkward at times. But I think you can be friends with your professor!!! Especially if they don't have A LOT of power over you or it's post-grad.
