Pre-school photos...

Do ya'll spend the money for those professional pictures? A part of me wants to do it, but they took Max's pic in 3 different outfits and you are required to buy each package separately. That would be $108.00! I'm torn because it is a sentimental thing, but its so f'ing expensive. Just wondering if anyone else struggled with this decision?

My dh and I argued about it. I wanted all of them for sentimental reasons. He wanted hardly any b/c they weren't good pictures. I ended up with about half the package for 40 bucks. We go to Sears twice a year and spend about 150 a whack, so the pre-school pics were cheap....but they weren't good pics. We kept the one of he and his classmates and I got one sheet in each pose...that was it. I think it's dirty that my school pics came pre-printed in a pkg so if you didn't buy them, you knew pics of your little one would be shredded. That's way harder to pass up than simply not ordering prints.

That way you would have the sentimental souvenir but not have to pay that extreme cost.

Yeah, that is the smart thing to do isn't it??!! LOL! Those bastards purposely took the pics in three diff outfits, suit with bowtie, cowboy, and bomber jacket with cap. maybe i should just ask max which one is his favorite and get that one. it is totally a sentimental thing because as ya'll know, i take tons of pics of my kids. DS is 11 months old and we took him to T*rg*t when he was about 4 months. They did pics once at daycare and we didn't even look at them. They just did some more yesterday and we signed him up for those, so we'll see how they look and how much they cost if we get any. I don't really care for the prof ones much. Of course some are cute, but the everyday life pics are way better to me.

That sounds really expensive! I took Isaak (who is almost 8 ) when he was 6 months old to Walmart and it was a big mistake. I spent $80 and I never framed any of them because they just looked so forced. I always think the spur of the moment pictures are way cuter, especially if you can use Photoshop and Dr. them up. I bought the smallest package just to have a picture of their whole class and teacher and a few others...but it was waaaay less than that. Maybe $20 or something. Less even.
