the politics of puke

K1 was sick yesterday with a 10 hour or so tummy bug. Now K2 is puking . Does that mean that I should cancle a meetup with a new friend and her husband tomorow evening to go to a comedy club even if I am showing no symptoms and its just going to be the adults, no kids? Is it the right thing to do or is that just going overboard?

a couple of months ago (the stomach flu sucks!) by our friends, who had it and came out anyway without telling us...I would say that at the very least, you should ask -- but seriously, do you want to give somebody the major shits and have them think about you every time that they are having liquid ass in the bathroom? hehe

Wow, I don't think I would even think anything of going. How concientous (sp?) of you. I like Christina's idea, calling and letting them know and decide. I'm with her, I'd go with you regardless, I'll take fear of puking over missing a fun night out anytime!

with people when I know they might be sick or whatever; but it's nice to let them know and make the choice. I cancel if my kid has been sick and I know they are pregnant; have a little baby, whatever.

say that your kids have the bug, you don't think you do, and would still love to go out, but wanted to let them know and let them make the choice. That way, they are informed and able to make the choice.

if it were me, I would so not give a hoot, and I would LOVE to go out with you, toddler barf and all, but you know, some people are skeevy about germs or even have health issues that require them to be more cautious. They'll feel that you are being considerate...
