A poem I've been working on...

Submitted by CordeetMente on Sat, 04/12/2008 - 4:24pm.

i was once with child
and since have been.
surviving
the times which have
been tender,
and even those bitter to my heart.
tasting not the now,
but the then,
and the if only.

yet sweetness still comes,
an apricot nape,
sneaking into my passing moments of tears.

when i fear the fragile.
failures,
causing harm,
and having been unkind.
i hope to find
something gentle,
something brave.

i hope to find
that i am true,
my shoulders strong,
and that those passing moments
will again find me.
able to cry.

CM, that is beautiful. All day I've been studying and this is such a nice break from my studies. You are talented in so many ways, mama. Hugs to you and thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you liked it. Mostly I write for myself, but for some reason I wanted to share this one. Thanks for reading it.
