So paity's 2nd birthday is approaching. We're planning a party at a local kid oriented art center. (they also have yoga and dance, but thats not whats going to be going on with the party - but sounds super fun anyway!)

so my question is this: i dont want a bunch of little toys, because i feel like i'd have to be so specific about what people get her (not plastic, local...) and most of the time people just get lots of crap and its overwhelming for them. (maybe that's part of the fun, i dont know. i do know that i dont want all that crap in my house.) so is there a way to tactfully ask people to donate to a bigger present for her? or should i just stick to the "bring a donation" route?

and while i'm at it - what about eco friendly grab bag stuff?
