Huck's c-section blog reminded me...

Did any of you mamas have numbness on your stomach afterwards? My stomach, well above the actual scar, was numb for a really long time afterwards, just now starting to get most all of the feeling back, and it's been almost a year. Just curious if that's happened to anyone else?

right along the incision line for at least a few months, but i healed really quickly otherwise. as the feeling came back it was sorta itchy, and that lasted maybe a few weeks. but it's all fine now. i don't even have a visable scar.

I'm so happy I asked this! I've always wondered if it was just me, if they screwed up or something. But I wasn't too terribly concerned, there's no pain and it seemed to be coming back, if not slowly. So it's nice to hear that it's seems like a common side effect. It's one of those things that no one tells you about!

it is so strange because it is numb but very tender at the same time. i had no idea that it is a phenomenon.

It was like that for a long time.
