vaccination irony

Well I went to Raiden's 4 month checkup yesterday, and it turns out through a major snafu that he never got added to the health insurance. So I couldn't even get his vaccinations. And since dh just got a new job and we won't have the new insurance until May, it looks like we'll be delaying those vacc's anyway. The ped said that'll make him susceptible to getting sick if we miss a dose because the immunity titre will go down in his system. But he's not exposed to much anyways so I think we're fine. According to her, the immunization schedule is so frequent in order to build up the immunity in an optimal though not overwhelming way for the child's system, which confirms what I always believed. I'm feeling good about the delay though, it'll be nice that he'll be a little older when we restart. I was mostly pissed at not being able to get a proper 4 month weight for his baby book. Now the $1000 bill from the first round of shots is gonna come back to bite our asses and that's gonna be a whole other drama.

What a snafu! Sorry that happened. I think it's great the vaccines will be delayed until he's a little larger, though 'cause that may make a big difference in the aluminum/blood ratio. I'm really sorry about the enormous bill, though.
