who's voting/caucusing on tuesday?i'm a registered independent (actually a 'decline to state' person, as the state of California likes to call us) but i can vote on the democratic ticket for the primaries come super tuesday. however, i'm just sorta stuck, not loving either of my choices. i was a big supporter of dennis kucinich, but he's out. boooh! and my second choice on the Dem ticket was edwards, but he's out, waaah! so that leaves obama or hillary and, honestly, i'm just not excited about choosing between them. as i see it, they are both egocentric centrists and they aren't all that different in either their voting records or funding sources. on the plus side, they both represent a somewhat radical change i'd like to see in this government, i.e. less white men running the show, please. and honestly, all this talk of them running together as pres/vice pres come november tickles me. but to chose between the two of them? that's like choosing between coke and pepsi when you KNOW you shouldn't be drinking soda in the first place. but i don't want to NOT vote, to leave it up to others to decide who gets to make history in our next presidential race. so i'm stuck. i thought until last night that i'd vote for kucinich anyway, since he's still on the ballot out here and since he's the one i really really really support. but while filling out my sample ballot last night i just got stuck. so now i dunno.... what are the rest of you SuperTuesday mamas thinking?

obama hilary clinton creeps
obama
hilary clinton creeps me out. And why do people always call her hilary and him obama...not directed at you, I have just been thinking about it lately.
I like him way better.
i refer to her as hillary
because Clinton, to me and probably most who also do this, more likely refers her husband. just as the current Bush is often referred to as 'W' and plain ol' "Bush," his father.
I'm caucusing on Tuesday.
I'm caucusing on Tuesday. For Obama.

mccain is the next president
and the difference with obama or hillary is negligible. i have a little wager with the mister about it. he thinks it's going to be obama. anyone want to do a pool?
my state has primaries on tuesday, but we have closed primaries. which means taht although i am independent, i must declare a party to vote in a primary. i am permitted to vote, i can show up on election day, but if i vote in any of the primaries, i am officially registering for that party. for reasons i have spoken about already, i am turned off by the process, and actually don't bother with primaries anymore. i simply do not care who the democratic nominee is, because i will never vote democratic again. i am tempted, however, to show up anyway and vote for kucinich to make a point. i haven't decided if it's worth it to declare a party just for that, though.
not taht it matters. votes are not counted and the whole thing is bullshit. and of course you know my opinion about leaving it up to others: you've already done that by willingly narrowing your own field.
wanna make a deal? wanna both agree to show up anyway and vote for kucinich? i'll do it if you will.

I disagree that McCain is
I disagree that McCain is the next president. I'm not even convinced that he will win the Republican primary. Far too many people underestimate Mitt Romney... he's much more appealing to the Republican base and the fact that he's mormon isn't going to hurt him as much as people think it will. I HOPE McCain is the nominee because I think he will be easier to beat than Romney.
I'm for Obama because while I agree that policy-wise the differences between him and Clinton are negligible, I think he stands a FAR better chance of winning in a general election, if he doesn't get assassinated first. People are embrasing him as this Bobby Kennedy figure. And, for whatever reason, Hillary Clinton is an extremely divisive figure-- she inspires a lot of HATE in people- particularly Republicans. There are Republicans who don't like McCain at all but if he were up against Hillary they'd probably even campaign for him just to stick it to her. She's not even getting the endorsements from long-time allies within her own party. I know both MA senators- John Kerry and Ted Kennedy- have endorsed Obama. I think that speaks volumes for his potential over Clinton's... but I'm really afraid that she'll snag the nomination anyways. The dems might as well hand the Republicans the White House on a silver platter... again.
well, there's really no deal to make
because i already am voting in the CA primary. no doubt about it. not sure i would if i had to declare a party, though. that creeps me out.
what i meant was,
that we'd both agree to vote kucinich. i think i will do it. i don't have to stay affiliated with that party. i can change back to independent immediately afterward. i'm pretty sure anyway.

consider it done
if he's on my ballot, he's got my vote. (he's on my sample ballot so he should be.)
