Tax Question

If you are married, do you file jointly or separately? I am so clueless about these matters. What are the pros and cons? We got married in January of '07 and I am worried it's going to royally screw me. Damned marriage. Any advice?

I think it depends on if you have two incomes

and the complexity of your filing, and if you consider it "your money". Kid can only be claimed one one.

I would buy Turbo tax and try it both ways.

part of the reason we got married was so we could both claim our daughters as dependents. i dont know if you have to file jointly for that, but joint filing has worked well for us.
