What I hope

I hope that one day Sophie meets a Hipmama son and falls and love and marries him. Or a Hipmama daughter, whatever her orientation may be. I'll know that her partner had a strong mama and a good upbringing.

Havent had time to post on the party we had last week for Sophie with my dad and his family and SO's mom and her son. It was pretty awesome! Mildly awkward at first because BIL was being shy and cranky. S wanted to give him a hug so much! They used to play all the time, but he just wasn't in the mood. When my dad and his fam got here, it loosened and tightened the tension. His hugely pregnant girlfriend made it afterall. I like her, don't get me wrong but theres something about her that just puts me on edge and makes me uncomfortable. But my little sister Aspen is Jesse (BIL)'s age. They found common ground in their love of balloons and played really well together.
I had Hors Deurves all set out on time and everything! We had dinner and then a pretty gross tasting "1st birthday cake" from the What To Expect The First Year book. Everyone humored me and told me it was good. It was nice of them.
Overall, it was a success and tonight is the night of the 2nd "party". It turns out everyone we invited had to say they can't make it for various reasons except SO's freshman year roomate, Nick. He's prolly the closest family friend we have. He adores Sophie and lets us borrow his car pretty much whenever.
So I guess tonight we're going to put Sophie to bed, I'm going to pump then maybe smoke a little whacky tobbacky (It's been forEVER) dig into a fabulous dinner and then play scrabble because thats how we party =)
Then pump and dump of course and pass out.
Sounds terrific to me.

Glad to hear your first party went well,

I was wondering.
