check out the dragon cake I made

Submitted by briefcandle on Tue, 10/30/2007 - 5:17am.

This was the cake I made for dd's 3rd birthday:
It's Ord, her favorite blue dragon from the Dragon Tales show. I worked until 2am the night before putting this cake sculpture together. I had never done a constructed cake before. She loved it and the kids loved calling dibs on different body parts. I couldn't even watch the cutting part. The design is something dh found online and fwded to me. If you ever want to make this cake, the tutorial is on this website.

I'm gonna have to find something for my son's toddler birthday as a way of being fair and even. thank goodness that effort is still several years away!

thanks! I really prolonged the cutting for like 5-10 minutes just so she could enjoy it. I let the kids try some of the "fire breath" (fruit roll ups) while they waited though Smiling

Thank you! I was all set to keep things simple this year bc I'm so pregnant, but when I saw the dragon cake plan which went with our dragon party theme I just couldn't not do it.
