Housekeeping/Dinner

OK, I'm slowly adjusting to life as a career woman. This morning my step-dad called to talk to my mom who's visiting, and asked what I was doing up so early - I told him I was getting ready for work, now that I'm a career girl. My 3 year old overheard and corrected me, "You're a career woman, not a career girl." That's right honey!
Anyway, here are the areas I need advise in:

1.) Housekeeping. It's the last thing I want to do at night/on weekends when I just want to hang out. My apartment is quickly falling to disrepair. When my husband is home with the kid they TRASH the house. I hate coming home all excited to see them/relax and then instantly feeling stressed out and grouchy because the house is messy. Of course I don't expect it to be spotless - it's mostly that he doesn't help Lucy clean up her messes throughout the day, so it's like every single one of her toys and half her clothes are all over the floor. I want to talk to him about it, but I don't want to be bitchy. I mean, when he was working and I was the one staying home, I would have been PISSED if he came home and asked why the house was such a mess, or asked me to please have the house picked up when he came home from work. Suggestions?

2.) Cooking. Some days by the time I get off work, go pick up Lucy from the babysitter's, and drive across town to our apartment, everyone is already starving and ready for dinner. It's too late to cook anything elaborate, and we can't really afford to eat out/carryout very often, so we usually just end up throwing something together. Any good super quick recipies, or recipies that you can freeze easily/links to good websites for this kinda thing?

Then, after dinner it's like, clean up the kitchen, give the kid a bath, and it's time for her to go to bed already or she'll be a tired wreck in the morning! And I barely hung out with her at all! Argh! Advice?
Thanks!
