an end to female circumcision
sometimes reading Philanthropy Today is really inspiring.
Tostan - a Senegal nonprofit educating women in Africa and fighting to stop female genital mutilation has won the largest humanitarian prize in the world. $1.5 million, which has got to be a total dream for this organization.
there is good in the world, i swear. they are working to end female circumcision in the next five years.

thanks for finding it and posting, lucyp. it always amazes me that this happens in the world. although, people still lop off the foreskin of baby boys every day, right here. this grant is huge, and so important. i have actually seen two patients from the sudan area at the clinic who had this happen to them. so shocking.
and yes, there is goo being done in the world, you are doing it too. every day.
