drop and give me ... seven!
1. Yesterday was kind of assy - I got everyone ready to go, strapped into bike trailer in the rain and all - SHIT! Flat tire (again). But I made the best of it, took them swimming and to a movie and tried to survive the day without too much stress.
2. During the evening showing of the film (the third Pirates installation) my husband was asked (by me) to come home after work and sort the house out. I came home to every single item on my list crossed out. Vacuumed and everything. We'll be doing that again, like weekly if I have anything to do with it.
3. This week I made a meal plan and bought the week's groceries for $90! And that included this chichi cosmetic stuff (from the freakish canned food grocery outlet which is where I'm getting all our soaps, shampoos, etc).
4. Coffee in the morning. If I have that, I can conquer the world.
5. Been keeping the drinkies down to one or zero beverages a night. Better sleep.
6. Nothing like sitting in front of the computer in the morning in sweats with a clarifying clay face masque on. Hope the Jehovah's Witnesses stop by.
7. Now that my parents are home from vacation my mom and I are back to hanging out daily and enjoying our time together. We are lucky to have one another.

1. My ass has been to the gym and back on 1 ( yes count them.. 1) cup of coffee.
2. Yoga rocked my world and running was not such a bitch to day like yesterday plus we ran outside & it is beautiful out.
3. Rhythm is keeping himself busy with monster trucks and small construction toys so I can get some HM time in.
4. My doctor agrees that we don't need to waste eachother's time today when it would be better to just go in for another ultrasound on Tuesday.
5. This means I have time to meet up with a bunch of lady friends & their tribe of kids for some splashing at the pool.
6. I got my tooth filled yesterday & very narrowly avoided a root canal. Yay for cost effectiveness , not having a crater in my mouth & not having to floss every friggin time I put anything in my mouth!
7.I'm leaving town soon for almost a month and I miss all my friends & family so damn much in Portland that I'm positively giddy to go home & see them all. I have a wedding to attend, my sister is having her baby while I am there, Another year of Oregon Country Fair, I have a place to stay while I am there that is free. I am already packed. Oh I am excited!
I guess you're meant to get used to loving to fix them. Or at least, that's my theory, cause dh gets all excited when he gets a flat, so I figured that he's just been doing it long enough that it adds a little something to the adventure. I however, hate the frakin things.
Your canned food outlet sounds great.

starting off in gratitude:
1. Successful email conversing with dss/dsd biomom. Dates are pretty well ironed out for the summer.
2. My mom wants to take all the kids to disneyland.
3. Have been feeling so emotionally shitty, apathetic and drained. Saw an advertised special and dragged the fam out for steak and beer--this is still wierd after being veggie for 15 years--and feel *so much better*.
4. Also lazed around in bed for several hours during the day yesterday. Needed that.
5. By the grace of god or good luck we are pulling out of june not as broke as I'd expected, thank you thank you.
6. New family pics--I'll try to post. We are some good (funny) lookin folks.
7. I'm inspired to put on a mud mask now. Also, ever try a honey pat? Dampen face with warm water and pat almost dry. Apply honey to face and then "type" on face with fingers till fingers stick a little. Leave on as long as you like, wash with warm water. Do it, it's so nice.
I've got 7 for ya. I am
crazed today. Sorry.
1. My boys are gone from 9-6 today at my cousin's house! YIPPEE!
2. Business is really taking off. Matt's loaded with work.
3. Feeling more girly. Made an attempt to try to dress younger and buy some new make up. Did the mask last night. And don't worry Kelly, we JW's have seen it all.
4. Thunder Claws brought a DEAD ROACH into our bedroom this morning. I almost stepped on it but thank god saw it before I did. I think I may like this cat after all.
5. I just might be sending out healthy mama music cd's today. IT only took me 3 months to get them out!
Everyone check your mailbox.
6. My two best friends are driving out here and should arrive tonight from Georgia. Just passing through on their way to San Francisco will be here for 2 days, but I'm so excited to see them!
7. And last....NEWMAN O's (got some last night and they are calling my name tonight at 11 o'clock.) I know I'm a hog!

it's a good value, works well & animal free. Queen Helene's mint julip mask
I am swisterland...switzerland? fuck it, I am swiss.
is EXACTLY what i use! Weird!
because it's the classic green mask. All we need are the cucumbers!

It's the "over 30" (ahem) refining mask. It's a little less fun (it doesn't "show up" on your face) but you can leave it on overnight and there is a visible difference in the am.
funny story: I bought it because their rep was in the store and offering a discount -- he steered me straight to the "over 30" products although I had just turned 30. Oh yeah, and just had a kid (I feel like I looked really worked right after I had her -- anyone else experience this?)
one great thing: they are super all-natural, recyclable packaging, very gentle, etc.
2 caveats: a bit pricey (which is why I haven't bought another bottle) and the scent, while nice and natural/herbal, is a bit strong.
MUDD 5 minute face mask. It's like 4 bucks and it burns but makes my face oh so soft. My house is the same way. I can't hide from anyone when they knock at my door. It sucks. That's when I usually grab the kids, put my hand over their mouths and duck into the hall closet. Or I do the keep talking loudly game to try to trick the person into thinking we just can't hear them. The second one usually works better. Haha! I think it's ginseng something, I really like that one. Also their environmental sun protection lotion--G.O. has 'em cheap!
1. My baby is back! Still a little sick but smiling and talking to us today, hurrah!
2. Asked for a new sewing machine on freecycle and am getting one! Pick up tomorrow, we'll see if it's any better than my piece of junk.
3. Danger Boy's new spiffy haircut.
4. $5 coupon came in the mail for craft store, we used it today.
5. Not too hot today and it's not raining....all in all very pleasant.
6. Talking to my Grandmother on the phone.
7. Private (-ish) swim lessons for a song.
ok, here i go.
1. bike trailer. got it for 10 bucks at a garage sale and it rocks. Took Sauce jr to the thrift store in it today where...
2. THRIFT STORE SCORE! two handmade childrens quilts in excellent shape for $1.50 each. One is appliqued animals and the other is embroidered beautifully. Both are hand quilted. I'll have to get off my duff and photograph them to show off to everybody.
3. my backyard is nice. it was such a trash heap when we moved in but all our hard work has paid off and now it is a thing of beauty.
4. I am so happy with my little house.
5. the 'mystery itch' in my son's ass crack is not pinworms but a mosquito bite. phew.
6. long weekend!
7. Found out my Grammy is going to visit on my birthday!

Nice thrift score! i'd love to see pics.
1. Last night Dave, Bug & I all went out to eat! It was Den*y's but still *fun fun fun* especially watching Bugs cram six grapes in his mouth at once then chew with the puffed out cheeks. We never do that, only 3 times since Bug was born
2.I met a great mama online, who I met IRL today for a picnic. She has really nice, smart older kids (young but older than mine) and a sweet little boy just a couple weeks older than Bug.
3. I made some killer picnic food. I am so proud of the spread
Pasta salad & tangy potato salad, then because I wasn't sure if the kids would be down with that, I hated food like that when I was young, I got a nice block of munster, a loaf of crusty bread, hummus, bagel chips, water crackers, snap peas & italian fizzy water. Everything was so good and she brought a delicious light berry pastry
4. watching our two little boys stomp their feet together "dancing" was so cute you coulda squeaked
5. We got badly sunburned *because we had so much fun* and then when we went to the store for aloe I bought a junky cake mix (funfetti) and a tub of premade frosting
6. Bug right now is reading, oh my god it's sickningly cute, he has the book open and he's saying stuff in his little Bug language
7.this aloe feels really nice on my back.
I am swisterland...switzerland? fuck it, I am swiss.
1. Kid's new phrase = "hey baby". Don't know where she got it but it sure is damn funny.
2. Came home from work early today with a migraine, the throwing up kind. Husband was awesome, got 7-*p and saltines (not sure if these were really the best things, but there is something about those two that make me feel cared for) and made sure I was able to sleep peacefully for a couple of hours.
3. When I woke up, husband and kid joined me on the bed and took more care of me -- husband with foot rubs and kidlet feeding me crackers and guiding husband's hands back to my feet whenever he stopped with the rubs (atta girl!). She was also trying to do foot rubs -- wiggling my toes around -- I see good things in the future with this. Lots of laughs.
4. After I got up, bubby followed me around, lots of smiles and cuddles.
5. Submitted an application for a job I was applying to...it's done, I can stop worrying about it and just wait for an answer. If the answer is no, then I still have this job.
6. I have a gift certificate for a schwancy spa. Massage, here I come (and I so need it).
7. My kid is turning into this happy, outgoing, active, verbal ball of light and fun. I still can't believe how I ever got along in the world without her. It's like one of the missing pieces in my life is now in place.
Bonus: kidlet has a nice little list of words that end in "ock" -- lock, sock, knock-knock -- and in her speech all begin with the same consonant, "C". Husband and I are turning into Beavis and Butthead, "huh-huh, she said 'cock'." Lots of laughs about leaving dirty cocks on the living room floor.
