Punk-ass Kids

My friend Alex gave my baby this really funny t-shirt.
it says:
F*CK
ART
LETS
KILL
Only it doesn't have an asterisk.
It's really socially poigniant, because my family is being gentrified out of our 3rd home, as property values skyrocket. My friend, who's band is RIOT COP, if that puts it in context for you, and most of my kids' friends' folks, are all artsy types who have to find new digs cuz a bunch of tourists wants to live in our artsy neighborhoods. At the same time, we face harassment, through the city inspectors, child services, etc, and a condesending attitude from people who have "nice" houses, as though we should be ashamed of ourselves, or are putting our kids in danger with our low morals.
And it p*sses me off, cuz the biggest danger my kids face every day is all the traffic on our street!
So my super-tough, enormous son (sporting bihawks since I got fed up with his cradle cap) is walking around in this shirt, & I'm so embarassed. Even though I put it on him.
See, normally, I don't beleive in putting your political opinions on your kids. But this actually affects him.
And we COULD be living out in the woods, training our children to shoot things, and preaching of the evils of Babylon. Instead, we're teaching them to express themselves creatively, and to avoid cars.
When he gave it to me, I felt he was sizing me up, wondering if I was chicken to put such a challenge on my child's chest. Cuz every peice that guy does is a challenge. And I was. And I did it anyway.
But I wish it had an asterisk.

I can't get the pic to load. To see my boy's cute mug, check out my hubby's blog:

I'm really angry for you that you're having a hard time

I don't always get to comment on your blogs but I do click on your links and it seems like you all have this amazing happy life there in the clown house and I'll be really pissed if idiotic outside mainstream forces make you move and try to get you to change your ways (NEVAH!). Keep fighting the good fight.
Love the bihawks, too.
