Has anyone ever bought a house by Lease/Purchase?

Any words of advice? We're probably going to do a short-term Lease (4-6 months). We just need to establish some payment history on a few things before we can get financed.

Do you mean contract for deed? Just make sure that you have everything in writing. EVERYTHING. Who pays, for example, if while you're still on option, the furnace breaks down? What are the terms? Can they break the contract if their mom decides she wants the house? That kind of thing.
