About the recent spam
Hi all, looks like the spammers have figured out a way to spam Drupal.
First, thanks to everyone for contacting me -- having the user name & the page they spammed on is really helpful to help me make sure I get them -- just one page is fine, once I delete the user all their posts will go away.
I know it's hard, but don't comment after them, they won't ever see it, they don't care & when I delete their sorry asses, I'd hate for the responses to get missed. Theoretically the responses to the deleted post should also be deleted, but I've seen it miss 'em before. It'll just help prevent weird & potentially awkward explanations...
Something I've done recently is have posts automatically close after a year. I'm thinking of having them close after a month. I wish I could set it for three months, but it looks like my options are weekly/monthly/yearly. Meh. It's unusual for threads to keep going for a full month though, right? That'll put the spam on the most current threads & keep them from bringing back way old posts back from the great beyond...
In the not too distant future we'll be upgrading to 4.7, so hopefully there are some code fixes in that to send them back to square one figuring out what they can do to get their crap entered in a way that's convenient enough to bother doing it... All on mama-time, of course, so I can't give exact ETAs, but know it's coming.
Thanks ladies!

Thank you for your work Susan!
Thanks susan!
I had a thought last night, I wonder if it's possible, or even a good idea, to make new uesers have to
A. Wait a specific period of time before replying to other ppl's posts and/or
B. make and introductory post before they can reply.
It's just a thought.
Thanks again for all of your prompt and hard work! It's really appreciated!
oh, and for the record, I do sometimes post on older blogs but I won't be sad if that has to cease in order to keep the spammers at bay.
