we pulled some Italian Sausage and some ground Turkey out of our freezer, they are still in a sealed package but they have ice and snowy looking stuff inside. Does that mean they are bad?

It can make it taste a little funky

but that doesn't mean it is inedible. Probably still good in chili or sauce.

yes it is safe but probably

yes it is safe but probably tastes like crap, the in chili or sauce idea would work though.

what I hear~is that's frost, not freezer burn

But yeah like lapina said, it might taste a little off. In my experience with frosty food, it's better if you mix it in stuff, like grill or fry the sausage than let it cook in some sauce or make chili (mmmmm chili)

yeah

what she said.
Freezer burn is when the meat looks dessicated. Frost doesn't mean freezerburn, just means extra moisture froze in a crystal formation above it. A protective layer..lol.
