Chronicaly constipated 10 month old. Advice needed please
Its breaking my heart! She is in a phase where she doesn't wanna eat mostly anything but chicken noodle soup, spagettios, mandarin oranges, and bites of bread, you know that attitude they get when they no longer want mushy foods, won't eat baby food fruits or veggies, oatmeal anything she can't pick up herself is out of the question. She drinks breastmilk like crazy, all day long hates juice. She struggles to try and go poo and screams and cries and it back fires and I can see it still in her bum. I am going to put a little mineral oil in breastmilk and when I go to work hopefuly she will drink it. is there anything you guys can think of to thwart this process?
a couple of times i used those little glycerine syringe thingees on vinny when i couldn't stand him crying. about half of one usually worked.
okay, christ, i just googled that to see if i could find a photo for you and came up with
this
...lord. i don't do phone sex anymore for a REASON.
anyway.
this
is what i used for v, he was about the same age, too. like i said, about half. it helped, cause he never drank juice either, until very recently.

That's hot.
Use any other oil. It will work just as well. I would recommend flax or olive oil. Mineral oil is a by product of gasoline, is NOT edible and can create nutritional deficiencies. I hate that so many pediatricians recommend it, and would never go back to one, personally, that did.

Thanks sunflower, this is EXACTLY what I was going to say. No mineral oil!!!!
What about cheerios (or better yet, I buy a brand called "purely O's" --- they are whole grain and I'm sure have lots of fiber, but are easy to pick up and eat for little ones.)
Bananas are constipating, so is rice cereal.
Four at a time will make him shit, and they are pick-up-able. I get ours online at illnessisoptional.com. Simon also really liked hemp toast at that age, and still does. Have you tried some of the whole grain breads at the health food store?

High fiber bread and chunks of pear are what work on my 14 month old. The pears especially.
