I'm drowning in cardboard!

We're moving this weekend, and I've been trying to pack up and be organized and cull out as much junk as possible, but we've got to be out by Sunday and I'm losin' it. Anyone have any moving tips or words of wisdom to help me along this last stretch of packing? (I'm so bad at moving...thus is one of the reasons why I don't do it often.)

I have moved 5 times in the

I have moved 5 times in the past 7 years. do not stop until you are done. I don't know if you are using a truck or what but we would always just keep going until all our stuff was in the new place even if we worked all night because it gives you a day to go back to the old place and look around for left items and the relief of just having your stuff in the house is tremendous.

Yeah, now is not the time to organize

Get it done! get your stuff out, then you can unpack/sort at leisure with a glass of wine in your new place...plus you need time to clean the old place, so give yourself as much time as possible.

5 moves = 1 fire

I've always heard that 5 moves equal 1 fire in terms of damage/loss of stuff. Is it true?

What helps me: Pack only

What helps me:

Pack only exactly what you cannot live without. That's IT. No crappy tumblers, bedding you don't use, etc.

Buy some contractor bags. Stuff full with the rest. Keep a separate one for things like cleaning supplies, shampoos, lotions, etc.

Call your local shelter and see if they take donations. I swear, ours was just thrilled to get all my old lotions, cosmetics, etc. that had been received as gifts. Clothes, bedding, etc. take to Salvation Army or the like. This time of year, they're so grateful for clothes, blankets, toys, etc.

Throw out what you can. Can you do any moving in early? What helps me is to get things out of my way as much as possible.
