in honor of my 3 year hipmama anniversary, i have vowed to spend less time on the computer, and more time wit my family or myself. so i though i'd check in this morning to say hi.
it was a very busy weekend. stepdaughter was here and we celebrated her birthday early(since she will be at her moms on the actual day). we went to the fair, went to build a bear(what a racket.....), and had a little family party. it was nice.
SO and i have been having a lot of good talks and making a point to spend time together and go on dates almost weekly. things have really been good for us lately. like really really good...and i have the most hideous hickey to prove it.
as soon as i decided to change careers, i've been super busy. worked for 3 weeks straight, which gives me enoug extra money to take a vacation. we're trying to take the kids to chicago for thanksgiving, so hopefully that will pan out. i am still planning on going to school, but have been so busy i haven't had a chance to call an advisor yet.
oh- our landlords want us to buy the house. which would be amazing. they haven't given us a number yet, and we want an appraisal because there are a lot of problems, but we're already planning the addition(as long as the city approves because its a historical district) and remodeling of the kitchen and the bathroom.
anyhow- i must stop typing because i have to hit the "h" button 3 times before it works, and its getting annoying.
love to all of you
EDIT
also, we went to our pediatrician. i loved my old one, but now at the new one i realized how much my old one sucked.
she detected a murmur in max, and because of his dads heart disease(dilated cardiomyopathy), he needs to go to a cardioligist.
also, max had a lot of ear infections wen he was a baby. i was always pestering te doctor about putting tubes in, and se always said he didn't need tem. well, the new doctor asked if i had any concerns about is speech and language(which i definitely do, nobody can really understand him very well). she said his both of his eardrums were pretty much entirely scar tissue. so, i'm pissed and feeling really guilty. we are scheduling a hearing test soon.

i feel you

on the keyboard, and wasting time on the computer. for a while i was using a computer with a fucked up keyboard, so that when you hit one letter you'd get another, so you'd have to remember which letter was really which.

take care. hope to hear from you soon.

thanks for the update, I've been wondering about you. Sounds like things are going well..and though it sucks about Max, it sounds like switching pediatricians was a good thing.
Stay well.

I have been wondering how things were going with you, good to hear that they are going good! I totally understand about spending less time on the computer and more time in real life.

I hope that your new doc does well by Max, good luck mama!

I am still interested in getting together someday!

i've been thinking about you a lot lately

and I'm glad to see things are (pretty much) going well...while hickeys are odd on adults they are a good sign, right?
about Max's ears...my mom chose not to have tubes put in my ears when I was young and really needed them. My eardrums are also almost entirely scar tissue (several burst eardrums per ear) and while my hearing is not fine I am. The tubes now while he is still so young will probably make a big difference. My doc now is harping on me to put tubes in still.
I'm vibing good ear vibes for max...his scar tissue radar will pick them up i'm sure Smile

glad things are going well. it's nice to have an ok life ain't it? anyhoo well the ear thing i understand. i have almost no hearing in my left ear(actually have almost no ear drum) due to so many ear infections when i was little. i did have tubes don't remeber much about it other than being sedated and then when they fell out carrying them in a test tube.:)they really just help the ears drain i think, my sit is this, my ear canals are not shaped correctly and thus do not drain, what you may need to do with him is. I had special ear plugs made at a hearing aid place where they put this gel in your ear so the plugs are shaped specifically for your ears. the gel the hardnes and the pull them right out. weird but seriously effective.you may need to keep water out of them totally which would mean showers and swimming with the plugs. these plugs are the best!! ask the doc maybe something like that would help him.
