I love spinach too

I was bummed about the recall, but I've been eating organic frozen spinach, it's still not the same as fresh though

no they did pinpoit it to

no they did pinpoit it to one supplier -- but they supply something like 80% of the spinach in the country. although, i read today that they further winnowed it to be the conventional stuff, not the organic. still, it was all destroyed so it will be another couple of weeks before it's back on the shelves.

this is why mega farms are

this is why mega farms are such a bad idea. crazy that one place grows all the spinach for the whole country.

My new green friend

After typing the title, I guess that could be seen many different ways...anyhow, I love spinach too and my hot dog princess loves it as well so I've tried to introduce rocket/arugula, which is a tad more bitter. I saute it in a little olive oil, garlic, and salt, and she likes it. I've also tried kale, collards, and rainbow swiss chard, which she did okay with. The swiss chard is fantastic sauteed with sesame seeds. Who ever thought we'd be jonesing for spinach! Smile

ooh, arugula is the best! i

ooh, arugula is the best! i like to mix it with my *sob* beloved spinach when i make salads and toss with a little lemon juice and olive oil and kosher salt, maybe a few thin slices of red onion and some shaved parmesean. mmmmmm..... and steamed swiss chard with a little garlic sauteed in sesame chili oil....mmmmmm...

good stuff. but still, not spinach.

try making

nettles infusion. like tea, except you steep it for 4+ hours. it is SO amazing for the body & will replace minerals & satisfy cravings until you can get more spinach...taste is VERY green, kind of on the level of wheatgrass juice etc.
