Help! I just fell off the back porch! *Update*
Stupid, stupid, stupid....fuck, fuck, fuck....I think I might have just broken a bone in my foot....would I know if I broke a bone in my foot? There's a big knot on the side of it and it hurts like crap. When I fell there was a really loud popping noise...maybe that was just my ankle popping? God, please tell me that this is just a minor thing. I can't fucking deal with any more medical bills/pain and douche bag fiance is out of town (like always). Fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck.
So...the break is pretty big with some displacement. I've just barely missed getting surgery, and am currently left to just wear a boot and not put any weight on it for 4 weeks. This is a nightmare, but thanks to all the hipmama's who vibed me...keep sending them this way, I've still got a long road ahead of me healthwise.
I have broken my foot a few times. If it swells and still hurts in a few hours, esp with some bruising, it may be be broken:( Good luck.....

Did you take some tylenol, elevate the ankle and have ice (or a handy pack of frozen veggies) on it? It could be broken, or it could be seriously sprained. I sprained my wrist falling on the ice last year and I was SURE I had broken it. It popped really loud and instantly swelled up in a very grotesque fashion. It hurt BAD! They took Xrays and there was NUTHIN! I was almost disappointed. They gave me a splint and sent me home. It took a long time to heal.
I hope it is a sprain, but try to keep off of it for as long as you can and wrap it in an ace bandage, or a tight pair of socks and some lace up boots. anything to immobilize it and keep the swelling down.

I have broken both feet, and one more than once (did I mention I am a klutz?). I have never had a cast. Ace bandage, sometimes with a bootie, is what I got each time.

I'm off to the doctor today at 1:30 to get everything evaluated and thankfully have a meeting with my DHHS case worker about Medicaid at 3 p.m. I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks a ton for the concern.
P.S. If it's broken, do I have to wear a cast?
