Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new Hip Mama Meetup group in the Capital Region. We are new (about 24 hours old) but our members (me!) are committed to building a community of families and hopefully make some friends along the way. I am hoping to use the forum as more than just a way to plan traditional Meetup type events. I am hoping it can become a place to learn and share new ideas. I have already posted a number of events on the board and my hope is that others will add new ideas as they join. Not all events or discussion will be child or mama related. I am just trying to create a place for people with a similar mindset to come together. I got tired of feeling like the oddball at some of the more traditional play/moms groups I've attended in the area and I know I am not the only one!

My idea for this group is that it become a safe, kind place to nurture and support local businesses and history as we nurture and support ourselves and our family. Any contribution you feel you may have to such a forum would be appreciated.
